Fat-soluble vitamins

  • Vitamin A, D, E, K

Water-soluble vitamins

  • Thiamin, Riboflavin, Niacin, Vitamin B6, Folate, Vitamin B12, Pantothenic acid, Bioton, Vitamin C

Minerals

  • These are inorganic compounds that cannot be synthesised by the body
  • They are essential in adequate amounts; to help control many of the body’s processes, as parts of various compounds, and as dissolved ions in body fluids

Macromineral

  • Calcium, Phosphorous, Magnesium, Sodium, Chloride, Potassium, Sulphur

Micromineral

  • Iodine, Iron, Zinc, Copper, Fluoride, Selenium, Chromium, Cobalt, Molybdenum, Manganese

WATER

  • The human body is 50 – 60% water
  • It is the solvent in which nutrients are digested, absorbed and transported
  • Controls body temperature through sweat
  • Lubricates joints and mucous membranes
  • It allows toxic waste to be removed through the urine and faeces
